I can’t recall the last time I didn’t install an extension from the Google’s Chrome Web Store. However, developers—up until now—have been allowed to offer their extensions as inline downloads. In other words, they could drop a download button on a website, you’d click on it and see a typical installation confirmation dialogue (as if you were installing the extension from the Chrome Web Store itself), and before you knew it, you were +1 to extensions.
Now, I don't own any Chrome OS devices, so Chrome Web Store just says 'wrong OS' for me, but. Someone with a Chrome OS device was unable to install the app with this message: Unable to install 'AquaMail' because it is not allowed by 'App Runtime for Chrome (Beta)'. Always Allow Extensions From Outside the Chrome Web Store. If you frequently install extensions from outside the Web Store, you can allow extension installation from any website by adding a command-line flag. To add a command-line option, you’ll have to edit the Chrome shortcut’s properties.

Goodbye, inline installations
This inline installation feature, as it’s known, is going away because we can’t have nice things. With inline installations, developers could talk about an extension any way they wanted to on their websites. Presumably, you then wouldn’t pay that much attention to the actual description of the extension you were grabbing from the Chrome Web Store. That could lead to a little confusion, at best, or maliciousness, at worst, if a developer wanted to pull the ol’ swippy-swappy and con you into installing something shady. As Google writes:
“..we continue to receive large volumes of complaints from users about unwanted extensions causing their Chrome experience to change unexpectedly — and the majority of these complaints are attributed to confusing or deceptive uses of inline installation on websites. As we’ve attempted to address this problem over the past few years, we’ve learned that the information displayed alongside extensions in the Chrome Web Store plays a critical role in ensuring that users can make informed decisions about whether to install an extension. When installed through the Chrome Web Store, extensions are significantly less likely to be uninstalled or cause user complaints, compared to extensions installed through inline installation.”

As of today, developers will not be allowed to offer inline installations for newly published extensions. Existing extensions will find inline installations disabled starting September 12, and Google will deprecate the entire inline install API when Chrome 71 hits in early December 2018.
What Google’s change means for you
If you visit a chrome extension developer’s website and find that you can’t click on a download button and install an extension, Google’s adjustment is likely to blame. Before you give up on the extension, try searching the Chrome Web Store manually to see if the extension exists—it should, unless the developer has made it very clear that this is an extension you should sideload into your browser. (You really shouldn’t have to do that unless there’s no other way to get a particular extension that you must have and have verified that the extension isn’t malware in disguise.)

What’s sideloading?
If Google pulls your favorite extension from the Chrome Web Store, for example, and you don’t care about the security concerns involved with installing an extension “gone rogue,” sideloading the extension allows you to to bypass Google’s installation restrictions.
To begin, enter chrome://extensions/
into your address bar and click on the “developer mode” toggle in the upper-right corner.

Take the extension’s .CRX file that you previously downloaded—assuming you have one—and use a service like CRX Extractor to transform its contents into a simple ZIP. Unzip that archive somewhere on your desktop or laptop, then click on “Load Unpacked” in the chrome://extensions/
window and go find the folder where you extracted that ZIP file. Barring any errors, that should drop the extension directly into Chrome.

If you have no idea where to find .CRX files for extensions, you can check out the ever-useful Chrome Extensions Archive. Download a .ZIP file from here, rename it to .CRX, and go through the above process to manually drop it into your browser. Yes, you’ll still have to use CRX Extractor to create another ZIP and import that folder’s contents into your browser. You’ll be fine.

(Though, really, you should just use the Chrome Web Store whenever possible for extensions. Malware can slip in, but at least Google is vigilant about checking for it and removing it.)
This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.

CHROME’s FAILURES
I am currently using Chrome for some browsing and not as often for sending emails. This software is great and light for browsing but when it is for sending emails watch the settings, your keypadKeyboard maybe linked to a send key so while typing you could mistakenly hit the send button usually marked as “Return” on your key pad. Chrome I’ve noticed also gathers a lot of private and personal information about you and how you use their product, the sites you are visiting etc. they use this to target you for marketing purposes or simply for selling out your email to promoter for the same reason and finally Chrome is quite vulnerable to malware attack and sometimes doesn’t show in “developers mode” where the virus is hidden in your extensions. Simply keeping the info time at 30s doesn’t apply to all computers so with slower computers mistakes are bound to happen. Chrome should serve the people using it not itself. Until these flaws are fixed some of which are deliberate it is not a good software to use for the web. (Just my opinion)
Plagued by ads and no dark theme
It’s got to the point I just don’t want to use chrome as my mobile browser. Pages are becoming increasingly difficult to read and navigate because of the wide array and vast number of adverts. Then there are the cookie notices, often difficult to reject or manage. There’s no reader mode, a workaround seems to be saving to pocket. That’s not mentioning the privacy aspect. Not only are all these things very irritating, sometimes concerning, chrome seems to really handle them badly, often locking up, becoming unresponsive, failing to display the full page then displaying it as you scroll up.
The balance of implementation and management of adverts and cookie notices is way off. So far off chrome has ruined the user experience to the point I don’t want to use it. I use chrome on desktop and generally it’s very good, this complicates moving. But I just can’t tolerate mobile chrome, it’s pushing me towards abandoning it, and it will make sense to get rid of the desktop version also so I have some continuity.
Firefox focus on mobile and Firefox on desktop.
When Microsoft get their act together with Edge, whether it’s based on chromium or not, it will become another option because Edge mobile is far better than chrome mobile.
Dolphin ? Opera ?
Who knows. But one thing is for sure, I’ve had enough of Chrome mobile, I can’t be the only one. Start looking into your options or Google will never resolve the issues plaguing this app.
Tabs tabs tabs
iPad experience with new design is not so good.
Biggest problem is with top bar where all the tabs are. When you scroll page it shrinks and then you have 2 options to get to other tabs or controls: scroll back or tap on that bar. Now the problem is that you made that bar either just unshrink or unshrink and scroll to the top if tapped by the top of the screen. However in most cases I get to tap too high and I really don't like that. Look at safari and you will know that when the bar is shrinked make it just unshrink on the first tap. For the scroll to top option make it with the second tap at the top when controls are big enough for the user to intentionally use it.
Another annoying feature is address bar in a new tab is in the middle. Look at desktop chrome and make it same. Those that don't care about middle bar continue using it at the top. Thank you for leaving it at least invisible, but do a favour and make it visible. This is just annoying.
